Beginning in June, we are collaborating with the streaming service Topic to bring you a taste of classic Nordic Noir! Topic will be launching every season of the series Follow the Money, The Bridge and The Killing throughout the summer. Scandinavia House Online will give you a sneak peek of the first two episodes of each season before they hit Topic. Passes for each show comprise all season premiere episodes in the series; a Summer of Suspense TV pass comprise all premiere episodes of each series. Ticket sales will go to support Scandinavia House; all guests registered for the screenings will receive a promo code for 50% off of their first 3 months (1.5 months free) to Topic.
A Nordic Noir classic, The Bridge (Bron/Broen) follows Detective Saga Norén as she and her colleagues investigate a series of crimes committed around the bridge connecting Sweden and Denmark. After the events of Season 2, Season 3 picks up 13 months later with Saga back at work, but missing her trusted partner and friend, Martin. When a well-known figure is found in an intricately staged murder scene, Saga finds herself working with — and butting heads with — a new partner. In episode 2, Saga gets a new Danish colleague, Henrik, and together they continue to investigate the first murder as well as a second one, with suspicions turning to a Danish blogger. As Saga makes a shocking discovery about Hans, they’re thrown into the twisted world of the killer, each haunted by their own personal demons.
Screenings of The Bridge will conclude with Season 4 (episodes 1 & 2) from July 22-25. The Summer of Suspense series will continue with screenings of The Killing in August.
Screenings of Season 3 episodes 1 & 2 will take place over four days (Thursday — Sunday), with all films available for viewing on a virtual cinema screening platform throughout this period. To download viewing instructions and an FAQ, please click here.
