“Skillfully blending fiction and real footage taken from his own life, Bucchieri has gifted viewers a powerful, moving melodrama” (Projektor)—on February 28, see a screening of 100 Seasons (dir. Giovanni Bucchieri, Sweden, 2023), a moving new drama centered on a chaotic, passionate first love. *Please note that due to travel issues director Giovanni Bucchieri will no longer be present at the screening.*
Inspired by real, thirty-year-old video diaries of his first love affair, Swedish director Giovanni Bucchieri recalls a naive romance involving two artists who saw each other as soulmates. The intense relationship between these “twin flames” is challenged by a bipolar diagnosis, their ambitious personalities, and their insecure attachment styles. An inspiring and heartfelt film about dreams, failure and the kind of love that can never die, 100 Seasons is a tender look at the beautiful but chaotic tension between creative and romantic passion.
