Join us at Scandinavia House for an adult art workshop and tour of our current exhibition, Fog Swept Cargo: Art from the Faroe Islands. Inspired by the work of artist Jóhan Martin Christiansen, workshop participants will create a watercolor painting. Guided by teaching artist Korka, participants will apply watercolors to watercolor paper to make an abstract triptych in a relaxed atmosphere. All materials are provided.
ABOUT MELKORKA HELGADOTTIR
Melkorka Helgadottir, A.K.A. Korka, is an Icelandic visual artist and teaching artist living in Brooklyn, NY. She received an MFA in Sculpture from San Francisco Art Institute and has taught for Brooklyn Arts Council, LEAP, and Studio in a School. As a teaching artist, Korka believes in nurturing the creative spark that each of her students possesses. She is currently working on an autobiographical comic.
