The 7th Annual New York Baltic Film Festival (NYBFF) presented by Scandinavia House: The Nordic Center in America returns this November with the best new films from the Baltic region! On November 10, see Parade (dir. Titas Laucius, Lithuania, 2022), a dramedy following a former couple’s decision to finalize their divorce through Catholic Court — with unexpected consequences. Miglė has been divorced for 26 years, or so she thought. But then one day she receives a strange request from her former husband: In order for him to marry his new girlfriend, they must also get a divorce through “Catholic Court,” the only institution with the power to undo the bonds of Christian marriage. As a series of awkward and embarrassing meetings with priests ensues, Miglė and her ex-husband find themselves growing closer together…perhaps even closer than they’d been in marriage.
