In this workshop led by Estonian designer Reet Aus, participants will examine how old jeans can be given a new life through different uses, discuss what local upcycling means, and learn about the problems facing the fashion industry in the age of consumerism, given that textile waste has become one of its biggest problems. They will also make a bag out of used jeans. This workshop is about hands-on participation, so participants are encouraged to bring their used jeans to personalize their upcycling project. Remember to bring your old pants and your creativity! Please note that some prior sewing experience is required.
