Composer, guitarist, and singer/songwriter Stanley Samuelsen presents acoustic music from his album Folk Songs From the Faroe Islands, with lyrics by Samuelsen and great Faroese national poets. Samuelsen sings mainly in Faroese, an old Nordic language that bears resemblance to Icelandic, both of which are, together, the closest counterparts to what Norwegian Vikings spoke a thousand years ago.

Stanley expertly composes melodies to the greatest Faroese poets, and his melodic songs are accompanied by finger-style guitar playing, which is influenced by esteemed guitarists such as Stephen Stills and John Renbourn.
