Learn the Nordic languages in classes offered this spring at Scandinavia House! In this hybrid course held in-person at Scandinavia House and offered remotely via Zoom, students will begin focusing on their conversation skills. They will learn vocabulary about the body and illnesses, which they will practice through extensive presentation assignments. As they hone their skills in comparing and contrasting different things, students will be introduced to the definite form of superlative, as well as expressions and preposition describing frequency. The values associated with life, health, and work in Swedish culture will be highlighted during the course.
This class will take place as hybrid learning, with Tuesday sessions both online and in-person at Scandinavia House and Thursday sessions online only.
Swedish Advanced Beginner 3 classes will take place on Tuesday (in-person and remote) and Thursday evenings (online only).
At the end of the semester, students will know:
- How to use the verbs stand, sit, and lie
- The definite form superlative
- Expressions and prepositions describing frequency
Students will be able to:
- Talk about how they feel physically, explain how they live, describe and compare different things, conduct short conversations where there is an exchange of information, and give instructions.
