See a Virtual Studio Visit with the Norwegian – American artist Ida Lorentzen in Oslo, Norway during the week of March 12 through 20! Ida Lorentzen is known for her paintings of rooms, spaces and light, with works reflecting both Nordic mystical detachment and stark American realism and filled with a deep reverence to history of places and lived life. Living and working on one of Oslofjord’s inner islands, the atmosphere in which she lives is reflected in the quietness of her work. In today’s program, she’ll bring us into her studio to share what she’s working on now.
The program will take place as a Virtual Premiere on both YouTube and Facebook; a link to the Facebook Premiere event will be added closer to the date. Set reminders at the links on either platform to watch and chat with us during the program, or stream on this page throughout the week of March 12-20; the video will later remain available for viewing. Support for this program has been provided by the Inger and William Ginsberg Fund of the American-Scandinavian Foundation.
This event is the fourth in a series of Virtual Studio Tours from Scandinavia House. See the first tour with Pekka and Teija Isorättyä here, the second tour with Camilla Vuorenmaa here, and the third tour with Shoplifter/Hrafnhildur Arnardóttir here.
